These Strawberries Soak Up Wine Like A Cheap Date At Happy Hour

Valentine’s, Schmalentine’s. I don’t buy into Valentine’s Day, but I’ll definitely use it as an excuse to get juicy, organic strawberries drunk on champagne. Instead of plunging those poor strawberries into hot pools of fudge, why not get them happy on some sweet bubbly? This is strawberry and champagne made better in sangria

Remember when someone decided to put lime in the Coke, you nut? Well this is my “Aha!” moment.

My fridge is never without a pitcher of sangria during the summer months. And did I mentioned I make a mean batch? Using fizzy wine and soda add extra dimension to this version of the traditional Spanish beverage and gives whole new purpose to the romantic duo.

Strawmpagne Sangria

1 bottle champagne

1 lb organic strawberries, washed, stems removed and halved

3 tbsp demerara or raw sugar

1liter natural black cherry soda

1/2 cup Bacardi

Method: Macerate strawberries, sugar and Bacardi for at least one hour. Add remaining ingredients and serve chilled.

Want something just as light and refreshing to go with it? Try these Vegan Tacos stuffed with apple, cucumber, mango, cilantro, avocado, arugula and alfalfa sprouts.

This is simply divine! I love the food choice with it. Btw, I have a recipe for peanut butter cookies that require NO flour so, no gluten for my girl! Another fab post!
